Dee Shepherd is a Byron based photographer and creative director. She sees the world with reverence and leans into joy with a real sense of nostalgia. Dee was exposed to art from a young age, her mum being a professional landscape artist. 2020 was a bit of a downer, don’t you think? I was in the pits, pondering what to do and how my family and I were going to survive, along with the rest of the world. El Jardin
Garden play is one of the most nostalgic feelings I have from my childhood. It’s what the smells and the sounds felt like, what the flowers were doing in every season, how the pine tree I climbed shed it’s needles, how we felt we pounded the long grass in the summer weary of brown snakes and how we carelessly fell on it in the winter. This is what I always aim to recreate. That feeling.
